Cookie policy

1. Information on our Use of Cookies

Our website and apps (our “site”) owned and operated by LiveScore Group Limited, a company registered at 25 Golden Square, London, W1F9LU (“LiveScore Group”, or “we”, “us” or “our”). The site uses cookies to distinguish you from other users and this helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our site and also to improve our site.

If you wish to remove cookies placed on your device by our site or stop our site placing further cookies on your device, you can do this at any time (learn how to do this below).

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. We use the following cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our site. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our site. We do not require your consent to place these cookies. Nevertheless, you may be able to block these cookies yourself on your device/browser, but restricting these cookies is likely to mean that our site will not work as you would expect and certain functionality may be inoperable.

2. Non-essential cookies

  • Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our site works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. We use cookies to compile visitor statistics such as how many people have visited our site, how they reached our site, what type of technology they are using (e.g. Mac or Windows which helps to identify when our site isn’t working as it should for particular technologies), how long they spend on the site, what page they look at etc. This helps us to continuously improve our website.
  • Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to our site. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
  • Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our site, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. This information will be used by us and third parties to make our site and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose. We will only set advertising/targeting cookies on your device if you give us your consent.

Social Website Cookies. So you can easily “Like” or share our content, we have included sharing buttons on our site for certain social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These cookies are set by the third-party social media sites to which they relate, including:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Instragram
  • LinkedIn

The privacy implications vary from social media site to social media site and will be dependent on the privacy settings you have chosen on these sites. Please refer to the relevant social media site’s privacy and cookies policy for more information. Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks, video hosting sites, and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, as set out above, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including Strictly Necessary cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our site. For instance, our site, like most websites, includes functionality provided by third parties. A common example is an embedded video powered by YouTube and Vimeo. Disabling all cookies may mean you cannot access the functions offered by these third parties.

3. What’s the difference between first and third-party cookies?

First-party cookies are cookies that are set by the site you are visiting, and it’s only this site that can access and read these cookies. Third-party cookies are set by someone other than the owner of the site you’re visiting. As an example, some pages have content from other sites like YouTube. YouTube may set their own cookies on your browser when you play the video from YouTube. Cookies set by other sites and companies (i.e., third parties) can be used to track you on other sites that use the same third-party service. We may engage third parties to assist with maintenance, operation, creation, or functionality of our site, e.g., analytics providers and content partners. We grant these third parties access to selected information to perform specific tasks on our behalf.

4. How you can change your cookie settings, including opting out

As part of our cookie solution, we always ask for your consent to cookies, except for strictly necessary cookies, before placing cookies on your device. We also always give you the option to change your consent. If you at one point gave consent to non-necessary cookies on our site, you can always change which cookies you wish to give consent to. This can be actioned by visiting the ‘Privacy Preference Centre’ the cog at the top of this screen.

It’s also possible to instruct your browser to refuse cookies from our site. Most browsers are configured to accept cookies by default, but you can update these settings to either refuse cookies altogether or to notify you when a site is trying to set or update a cookie. If you use multiple browsers and wish to block cookies or change or withdraw your consent, remember to do this in all browsers. If you browse sites from multiple devices, you may also need to update your settings on each individual device. Although some cookies can be blocked with little impact on your experience of a site, blocking all cookies may mean you are unable to access certain features and content on the site.
